RESIDENTIAL
RED GABLES
Located in the southern section of Bedford, in the Glen Moir area, Red Gables sits atop a hill overlooking Bedford Bay. Originally the family home of Henry DeWolf, this historic site has long been a cornerstone of the community. As the design lead for the Red Gables development, our approach prioritizes the integration of heritage preservation with modern urban living. Anchored by an existing building dating back to around 1870, Red Gables is undergoing heritage registration and will be restored as a community amenity.
The development includes a 9-storey residential building, a 4-storey mixed-use building with ground-floor commercial space, as well as townhouses and carriage houses. Balancing thoughtful growth with preservation, the project ensures Red Gables remains a focal point while introducing diverse housing options. With a strong emphasis on sustainability and urban design, this redevelopment breathes new life into a historic asset, reinforcing Bedford’s sense of place and community identity.
