An addition to an existing mixed use multi-unit residential and commercial building is being proposed at 184-186 Portland Street and 44-48 Canal Street. The development is in accordance with HRM’s Regional Centre Land Use By-law Regulations. The project is an 11-storey tall mid-rise development containing 133 dwelling units, 3,794 sq.ft. of commercial floor area, 142 underground vehicle parking stalls, and 67 bike parking stalls. A variation to the roof edge setbacks of height exempted building rooftop features is being requested as permitted under Subsection 15(1) of the Land Use Bylaw.
